A court in Begusarai, Bihar, issued arrest warrants for producer Ekta Kapoor & her mother Shobha Kapoor on allegations that they offended troops and their family members in Season 2 of her online series “XXX.”
After Ekta and Shobha Kapoor neglected to appear for their court summons, the judge issued the warrant. The case relies on a complaint made by Begusarai resident and ex-serviceman Shambhu Kumar.
“The court had called them and ordered them to appear before it based on a complaint submitted by Shambhu Kumar, an ex-serviceman, and resident of Begusarai. However, they failed to show up in court, thus a warrant was issued for their arrest “said lawyer Hrishikesh Pathak.
It is noteworthy that lawsuits against Ekta Kapoor have already been filed in other locations connected to the online series.
Producer Ekta Kapoor and others were named in an FIR filed in Indore for allegedly offending religious sentiments, disparaging Army officers, and improperly using the national anthem in the online series “XXX season 2.”
The FIR was filed at the Annapurna police station in 2020 under a number of provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and The it Act, according to the police.
The complainant, Neeraj Yagnik, stated that he filed a complaint after viewing the web series’ offensive usage of the national anthem and the Army uniform.
In a Muzaffarpur court in Bihar, a similar case was made over filmmakers Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor for allegedly abusing military troops and their families in their online series Alt Balaji’s XXX.
