Defense News: ISRO successfully launched PSLV-C52


PSLV-C52: Recently, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) successfully launched its first Radar Imaging Satellite Earth Observation Satellite (EOS-04) in the year 2022 from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Andhra Pradesh on 14 February 2022 at 5.59 am.

This launch was done by PSLV-C52 from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. Along with this mission, two other small satellites have also been sent into space. This is the 54th flight of PSLV.

What is EOS-04?

Radar Imaging EOS-04 has been sent to space under this mission. EOS-04, which weighs 1,710 kg, will orbit in a 529-km Sun-synchronous polar orbit in space. ISRO said that EOS-04 is a radar imaging satellite. This satellite will be used to take high-quality pictures of the Earth.

 

PSLV has also launched two small satellites, which have been developed in collaboration with the Atmospheric and Space Physics Laboratory of the University of Colorado, Boulder. Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) satellite InspireSat-1 is also included. While the second satellite is a Technology Demonstrator Satellite (INS-2TD) of ISRO. This satellite has been developed and sent before the joint satellite of India and Bhutan, INS-2V.
