National Mathematics Day 2021: National Mathematics Day is celebrated in India every year on 22 December to recognize the achievements of the great Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. Ramanujan made his valuable contribution in the field of mathematics.
The former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, had declared 22 December as National Mathematics Day at a function organized on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan in Chennai in the year 2012. National Mathematics Day was celebrated for the first time on 22 December 2012 across the country.
Objective:
The purpose of celebrating National Mathematics Day is to spread awareness among the people about the importance of Mathematics. Several initiatives are taken to inspire, encourage and develop a positive attitude towards learning mathematics among the young generation of the country. Ramanujan was recognized for his mastery of continued fractions and worked on hypermetric series, Riemann series, zeta functions and functional equations of elliptic integrals.
Srinivasa Ramanujan:
Srinivasa Ramanujan, the great mathematician of India was born on 22 December 1887 in the village of Erode, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Despite the lack of education, at the age of 12, Srinivasa Ramanujan had excelled in trigonometry and developed many theorems. Ramanujan made important contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series and fractions. He died on 26 April 1920 due to TB disease at the age of just 33.
National Mathematics Day 2021: भारत में प्रति वर्ष 22 दिसंबर को महान भारतीय गणितज्ञ श्रीनिवास रामानुजन की उपलब्धियों को मान्यता देने हेतु राष्ट्रीय गणित दिवस मनाया जाता है| रामानुजन ने गणित के क्षेत्र में अपना बहुमूल्य योगदान दिया था|
भारत के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री डॉ. मनमोहन सिंह ने वर्ष 2012 में चेन्नई में श्रीनिवास रामानुजन की 125वीं जयंती के अवसर पर आयोजित एक समारोह में 22 दिसंबर को राष्ट्रीय गणित दिवस (National mathematics day) के रूप में मनाने की घोषणा की थी| पहली बार देश भर में 22 दिसंबर 2012 को राष्ट्रीय गणित दिवस मनाया गया था|
उद्देश्य:
राष्ट्रीय गणित दिवस को मनाने का उद्देश्य लोगों में गणित के महत्व के बारे में जागरूकता फेलना है| देश की युवा पीढ़ी के बीच गणित सीखने के प्रति सकारात्मक दृष्टिकोण को प्रेरित करने, उत्साहित करने और विकसित करने के लिए कई पहल की जाती हैं| रामानुजन को उनके निरंतर अंशों की महारत के लिए पहचाना गया था और उन्होंने हाइपरमेट्रिक श्रृंखला, रीमैन श्रृंखला, जेटा फ़ंक्शन और अण्डाकार अभिन्न अंग के कार्यात्मक समीकरणों पर काम किया था|
श्रीनिवास रामानुजन:
भारत के महान गणितज्ञ श्रीनिवास रामानुजन का जन्म 22 दिसंबर 1887 को तमिलनाडु के कोयंबटूर के ईरोड गांव में हुआ| शिक्षा की कमी के बाद भी 12 साल की उम्र में ही श्रीनिवास रामानुजन ने त्रिकोणमिति में उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन किया था और कई प्रमेयों का विकास भी किया था| रामानुजन ने गणितीय विश्लेषण, संख्या सिद्धांत, अनंत श्रृंखला और अंशों के बारे में अहम योगदान दिया था| महज 33 साल की उम्र में टीबी की बीमारी के कारण 26 अप्रैल 1920 को उनका निधन हो गया था|
