Ladakh launches ‘Pani Month’ Campaign: The ‘Pani Maah’ or Jal Month campaign has been started in Ladakh to make the villagers aware of the importance of clean water. The Ladakh government has announced a reward of Rs 25 lakh for the first block of each district to achieve ‘Har Ghar Jal‘ status.
A three-pronged approach will be adopted under the ‘Pani Maah’ campaign, viz., water quality testing, planning and water supply strategy, and focusing on seamless functioning of Pani Sabha in villages.

Till now only 11.75 percent of rural households in Ladakh have tap water connections. The Pani Month campaign will accelerate the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the Union Territory. During this campaign, rural communities will be encouraged to send water samples to water quality laboratories for quality testing and monitoring.
In the first phase of the water month, water samples will be taken for testing from all the identified sources and service delivery points. The second phase will focus on pani sabha/ gram sabha/ block level meetings and door-to-door visits for effective communication on water quality and service delivery under Jal Jeevan Mission.
ग्रामीणों को स्वच्छ जल के महत्व के बारे में जानकारी देने के लिए लद्दाख में ‘पानी माह (Pani Maah)’ या जल माह अभियान शुरू किया गया है| लद्दाख सरकार ने ‘हर घर जल (Har Ghar Jal)’ का दर्जा हासिल करने वाले प्रत्येक जिले के पहले ब्लॉक के लिए 25 लाख रुपये के इनाम की घोषणा की है|
‘पानी माह’ अभियान के तहत तीन-आयामी दृष्टिकोण अपनाए जाएंगे, जेसे कि – पानी की गुणवत्ता परीक्षण, योजना और पानी की आपूर्ति की रणनीति, और गांवों में पानी सभा के निर्बाध कामकाज पर ध्यान केंद्रित करना आदि|
जल शक्ति मंत्रालय (Ministry of Jal Shakti) ने जल जीवन मिशन योजना 2019 में शुरू की गई जिसका लक्ष्य 2024 तक देश के हर ग्रामीण घर में सुरक्षित पाइप से पीने का पानी पहुचना था|
लद्दाख में अभी तक केवल 11.75 प्रतिशत ग्रामीण परिवारों के पास नल के पानी के कनेक्शन हैं| पानी माह अभियान से केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में जल जीवन मिशन (Jal Jeevan Mission) के कार्यान्वयन में तेजी आएगी| इस अभियान के दौरान ग्रामीण समुदायों को पानी के नमूने गुणवत्ता जांच और निगरानी के लिए पानी की गुणवत्ता प्रयोगशालाओं में भेजने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जाएगा|
पानी माह के पहले चरण में सभी चिन्हित स्रोतों और सर्विस डिलीवरी पॉइंट से जांच के लिए पानी के सैंपल लिए जाएंगे| दूसरा चरण जल जीवन मिशन के तहत पानी की गुणवत्ता और सेवा वितरण पर प्रभावी संचार के लिए पानी सभा / ग्राम सभा / ब्लॉक स्तर की बैठकें और घर-घर जाकर दौरा करने पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेगा|
