Government of India to set up ‘Garima Griha’ for transgender persons: The centre is setting up Garima Grihas for transgender persons with the help of community-based organizations. Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment A. Narayanaswamy told the Lok Sabha that 12 pilot shelter homes were started with the aim of providing safe shelter to transgender persons.
Garima Grihas for transgender persons will be set up with the help of community-based organisations. Such shelter homes have been set up in the states of Maharashtra, Delhi, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and Odisha.
(केंद्र समुदाय आधारित संगठनों (community-based organizations) की मदद से ट्रांसजेंडर व्यक्तियों के लिए गरिमा गृह (Garima Grihas) स्थापित कर रहा है। सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता राज्य मंत्री ए. नारायणस्वामी ने लोकसभा को बताया कि ट्रांसजेंडर (transgender) व्यक्तियों को सुरक्षित आश्रय प्रदान करने के उद्देश्य से 12 पायलट आश्रय गृह शुरू किए गए|)
(ट्रांसजेंडर व्यक्तियों के लिए गरिमा गृह(Garima Grihas) समुदाय आधारित संगठनों की मदद से स्थापित किए जाएंगे| ऐसे आश्रय गृह महाराष्ट्र, दिल्ली, पश्चिम बंगाल, राजस्थान, बिहार, छत्तीसगढ़, तमिलनाडु और ओडिशा राज्यों में स्थापित किए गए हैं|)
