Recently Jagannath Vidyadhar Mohapatra, member of CBDT, Ministry of Finance, has been given additional charge of chairman of the Board of Direct Taxes for three months. The extended tenure of the current President Pramod Chandra Modi ended on May 31.

In February, he was given a third extension till May 31. Last week, the government-appointed three new members to the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the administrative and policy-making body for the Income Tax Department.
