Trivendra Singh Rawat met Governor Baby Rani Maurya at four o’clock today (March 9) and submitted his resignation.
Recently, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat resigned as Chief Minister a year before the scheduled election. After this move, the three-day-long political crisis in the state will end.
After the BJP’s victory in the assembly elections in early 2017, Rawat, who became the CM, resigned after meeting Governor Baby Rani Maurya. Now the state Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat, MP Ajay Bhatt and Satpal Maharaj are being declared as strong contenders for this post in BJP Party.
The central BJP leadership recently asked two observers, party vice-president Raman Singh and general secretary Dushyant Kumar Gautam, to receive a response from the party’s core group in the state amid reports of dissatisfaction against the chief minister.
After the resignation, Trivendra Singh Rawat told the press conference that I have been doing politics for a long time. For four years, the party gave me the opportunity to serve as CM. I could never have imagined that I could ever become CM, but the BJP has given me a chance to serve. The party has now decided that the opportunity to serve as CM should now be given to someone else. However, when asked the reason for resigning, he said that you will have to go to Delhi to know this.
