English county Lancashire on Monday announced the overseas signing of India batsman Shreyas Iyer for the 2021 Royal London Cup.
Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer will join England’s County Club Lancashire for the 2021 Royal London Cup to be played in the fifty-over format. Which was announced by the club on Monday. Iyer became the 6th Indian to sign for Lancashire.
The club wrote on its official Twitter handle, ‘Lancashire Cricket is pleased to announce the signing of the Indian international batsman Shreyas Iyer as a foreign player for the 2021 Royal London Club.’
Iyer will arrive at Old Trafford on 15 July before the start of the 50-over tournament and will be with Lancashire for the duration of the month-long group stage. The top-ranked batsman is considered the most aggressive and fluent player in Indian cricket and has played 21 ODIs and 29 T20 Internationals for India.
Earlier, former Indian captains Sourav Ganguly, Harbhajan Singh, VVS Laxman have also been a part of this English club, so it is a big achievement for Shreyas.

(50 ओवर के टूर्नामेंट की शुरुआत से पहले अय्यर 15 जुलाई को ओल्ड ट्रैफर्ड पहुंचेंगे और महीने भर के ग्रुप स्टेज की अवधि के लिए लंकाशायर के साथ रहेंगे| शीर्ष क्रम के बल्लेबाज को भारतीय क्रिकेट में सबसे आक्रामक और धाराप्रवाह खिलाड़ी माना जाता है और उन्होंने भारत के लिए 21 वनडे और 29 T20 अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मैच खेले हैं|)
(इससे पहले पूर्व भारतीय कप्तान सौरव गांगुली, हरभजन सिंह, वीवीएस लक्ष्मण भी इस इंग्लिश क्लब का हिस्सा रह चुके हैं, ऐसे में श्रेयस के लिए यह एक बड़ी उपलब्धी है|)
