The Punjab government has ordered schools and colleges to be closed till March 31 in light of the rising Covid-19 cases. 

To curb the spread of Corona in Punjab, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has issued orders to close all educational institutions in the state by 31 March and limit the movement of people in cinema and shopping malls. Which will be applicable in the state from next Sunday.

In the Covid review meeting, it has been decided to keep all other educational institutions, including medical and nursing colleges, closed till March 31, while more than 50 percent of the audience in the cinema hall and shopping malls will not enter more than 100 people at any given time.

The Chief Minister appealed to the people to limit social activities in their homes for the next two weeks so that this new link of spreading Covid can be broken. He appealed not to invite more than 10 guests to their homes simultaneously.

All social activities and celebrations have been completely banned in the 11 worst-affected districts of Punjab. However, exemptions have been given for functions like marriages and funerals in which a maximum of 20 people will be present. Night curfew will be applicable from 9 in the morning to 5 in the most affected districts.
