The owner of MDH Mahashay Dharampal Gulati passed away

Dharmapala Gulati, the owner of the MDH, called the Masala King, passed away. He was born in 1923 in Sialkot, Pakistan. He was also called ‘Dalaji’ and ‘Mahashaji’. Dharampal Gulati, who left school at an early age, got involved in his father’s spice business in the early days. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan, the country’s third-highest civilian honor by the Indian government in 2019.

About Dharampal Gulati:

After partition in 1947, Dharampal Gulati migrated to India and stayed in a refugee camp in Amritsar. He then moved to Delhi and started a shop in Karol Bagh, Delhi. Gulati officially established the company in 1959. His business was not limited to India only but he also became a distributor and exporter. His company exports Indian spices to various parts of the world including UK, Europe, UAE, Canada.
