APEDA signs agreement with SFAC for development of agricultural sector

Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC) has signed an Memorandum of Understanding. The MoU aims for the development of agriculture and allied sectors as well as its exports for bringing better value to the stakeholders. The two organizations are also working towards linking of Farmer Producer organizations, farmers’ cooperatives to the export value chain. The above aim can be achieved through capacity building, creation of infrastructure, facilitating primary and secondary processing in the clusters.

A memorandum of understanding has been signed by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and the Small Farmers Agricultural Trade Association (SFAC). The objective of this MoU is to collaborate for the development of agriculture and allied sectors and agricultural exports to provide better value to stakeholders. Both organizations are also working towards linking farmer producer organizations, farmers’ cooperatives with the export value chain. The above objective can be achieved through capacity building, infrastructure building, primary and secondary processing facilities in clusters.
(कृषि और प्रसंस्कृत खाद्य उत्पाद निर्यात विकास प्राधिकरण (APEDA) और लघु कृषक कृषि व्यापार संघ (SFAC) द्वारा एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए हैं। इस एमओयू का उद्देश्य कृषि और सम्बद्ध क्षेत्रों के विकास और हितधारकों को बेहतर मूल्य उपलब्ध कराने के लिए कृषि निर्यात हेतु परस्पर सहयोग करना है। दोनों संगठन किसान उत्पादक संगठनों, किसानों की सहकारी समितियों को निर्यात मूल्य श्रृंखला से जोड़ने की दिशा में भी काम कर रहे हैं। उपर्युक्त उद्देश्य को क्षमता निर्माण, बुनियादी ढांचे के निर्माण, समूहों में प्राथमिक और माध्यमिक प्रसंस्करण की सुविधा के माध्यम से प्राप्त किया जा सकता है।)

Key facts from the agreement between APEDA and SFAC:

• Under the MoU, APEDA and SFAC will work jointly with exporters to link FPOs.           (एमओयू के अंतर्गत, एपीडा और एसएफएसी संयुक्त रूप से निर्यातकों के साथ एफपीओ को जोड़ने के लिए काम करेंगे।)

• They will also work towards capacity building, awareness programs, various programs and workshops of various stakeholders.  (वे क्षमता निर्माण, जागरूकता कार्यक्रम, विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों और विभिन्न हितधारकों की कार्यशालाओं की दिशा में भी काम करेंगे।)

• APEDA will facilitate certification of organic products / fields by farmer producer companies (FPCs) aided or identified by SFAC.   (एपीडा, एसएफएसी द्वारा सहायता प्राप्त या चिन्हित किए गए किसान निर्माता कंपनियों (एफपीसी) द्वारा जैविक उत्पादों / क्षेत्रों के प्रमाणीकरण की सुविधा प्रदान करेगा।)

• APEDA has been entrusted with the responsibility of export promotion and development of products like fruits, vegetables and their products, meat and meat products, poultry and poultry products.
