The management aims to maintain the “ethos, principles, and learning that have made MI one of the most loved cricket brands throughout the globe” across all of its teams. Jayawardene and Zaheer have been promoted to new positions as part of the structure.

Jayawardene has also been appointed as MI’s Global Head of Performance

Jayawardene has been appointed as MI’s Global Head of Performance and will provide senior leadership of the group’s cricket operations worldwide, including overall strategic planning, the creation of an integrated global high-performance eco-system, and responsibility for each team’s coaching and support structures, working closely with team head coaches to ensure synergies, a consistent brand of cricket, and the implementation of MI’s best practices.
“It is a privilege to head MI’s worldwide cricket activities.” Mrs. Ambani and Akash’s leadership and direction have elevated MI to the status of the most valuable global cricket brand, and I am delighted to watch MI expand internationally.
“I am excited about this new opportunity to help establish a strong, coherent global cricket brand,” Jayawardene said in a statement.

Zaheer khan will be the global head of cricket development

Zaheer, on the other hand, has been appointed as the Global Head of Cricket Development, MI, and will be responsible for player development, building on MI’s robust talent identification and grooming program and implementing it across geographies, which has been central to MI’s philosophy and success.
Each locale presents its own set of obstacles, and Zaheer’s enhanced role will be critical in assisting MI teams throughout the world.
“I am honored to take on this new job, and I am grateful to Mrs. Nita Ambani and Akash for their trust in me.” MI has been a home for me as a player and a part of the coaching staff, and as we begin a new adventure, I look forward to working closely with all stakeholders in
the worldwide network to find fresh talent that may join the family,” Zaheer said.

What was the need for the changes in new positions?

The club management realized the necessity for a central staff with the development of MI #OneFamily, which now comprises the MI Emirates and MI Cape Town in addition to Mumbai Indians. This will maintain continuity across the ethos, principles, and lessons that have made MI one of the most loved cricket brands in the world.
Two MI veterans, Mahela Jayawardene and Zaheer Khan, who have a thorough grasp of the MI value system and a proven track record, have been elevated to new roles as part of the structure’s evolution.

will this create a new goal for the team?

Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, is sure that the two would be able to
emulate Mumbai Indians’ success in the Indian Premier League.
“I’m delighted to welcome Mahela and Zak as members of our worldwide core team.”
Both have been a vital part of the MI family and exemplify the spirit of cricket that MI
represents.
“I’m convinced they’ll be able to guarantee the same flows across all of our teams
internationally and make a difference in cricketing ecosystems throughout the world,” Akash added.
