MI Emirates head coach will be Shane Bond

Shane Bond has been named head coach of MI Emirates, the Mumbai Indians-owned franchise in the ILT20 league in the UAE.

He has been the bowling coach of Mumbai Indians in the IPL since 2015 and will continue in that role. Vinay Kumar, the new bowling coach, and Parthiv Patel, the new batting coach, are both on the coaching staff.

James Franklin will serve as the fielding coach. Robin Singh will also oversee cricket as the general manager. 

While the ILT20 schedule has not yet been released, it will coincide with the SA20 league in South Africa’s January–February 2023 season.

Since they had teams in both championships, the Mumbai Indians organization had to employ several coaching teams.

Mark Boucher will lead the team 

That exercise has been finished with the most recent set of appointments.

Mark Boucher has been hired to lead the Mumbai Indians in the IPL after resigning as the head coach of the South Africa men’s national team following the squad’s participation in the upcoming match in Australia for the T20 World Cup.

After Mahela Jayawardene, who has been the head coach of the Mumbai Indians since 2017, was promoted to a more global role within the Mumbai Indians organization, that post became available.

Jayawardene is the global head of performance

The group has appointed Jayawardene as its global head of performance. He will be in charge of scouting and coaching for all three of the owners’ teams, which play in the IPL, ILT20, and SA20.

Additionally, Zaheer Khan, who was formerly the director of cricket operations, has been appointed the three teams’ worldwide head of cricket development. 

Hashim amla and Katich will be the batting coach

In the meanwhile, MI Cape Town, the SA20 squad, has appointed Simon Katich as their head coach.

Hashim Amla will aid Katich as the team’s batting coach, while Robin Peterson will serve as the general manager. Fielding coach James Pamment will take over [and perform in the same capacity with Mumbai Indians at the IPL as well].

Among the non-UAE [overseas] players on the MI Emirates roster are Trent Boult, Dwayne Bravo, and Kieron Pollard.

The coaching staff is incredibly knowledgeable about the ideals that make MI what it is, according to Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, the company that owns the three clubs. 

Bond is ready to build a new squad
