Jaisalmer Desert Festival 2022: From 13 to 16 February 2022, the famous Maru festival was organized in Jaisalmer. There is a wave of happiness among the people about this. Many cultural events were organized during this festival.
Jaisalmer Desert Festival: The famous Jaisalmer Desert Festival, also known as Maru Mahotsav of Golden City, was held from 13 to 16 February 2022 in Pokaran village of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
It is a four-day annual event that started with a colorful grand procession followed by Miss Pokaran and Mr. Pokaran competitions. Regional folk dances like Kalbelia, Kachhi Ghodi, Gair were performed.

Shale Mohammad, Minister of Minority Affairs of Rajasthan, flagged off this program and started it. The festival has been celebrated amidst the beautiful dunes of the Thar Desert at Sam Tibba (42 km from Jaisalmer).
It is a three-day festival organized by Rajasthan Tourism Board. In which tourists can enjoy various cultural events, camel races, turban tying, and best mustache competitions. It was initially started with the aim of attracting more foreign tourists to Rajasthan.
Erotic performances by famous gare and fire dancers and camel rides can make the trip memorable. The local administration provides medical vans, souvenir shops, and mobile money exchangers at the festival site for the convenience of the tourists. Credit cards are also accepted everywhere.
