National Voters Day 2022: The Election Commission of India will celebrate the 12th National Voters Day on 25 January 2022 across the country.
National Voters Day: National Voters’ Day is celebrated every year on 25 January. The Election Commission of India will celebrate the 12th National Voters’ Day across the country this year. The ‘National Voters’ Day’ was launched on 25 January 2011 by the then President Pratibha Devi Patil.
National Voters’ Day is celebrated on the same day as 25 January because the Election Commission was established on this day in the year 1950. Voters’ Day was started on the 61st Foundation Day of the Election Commission.

In the largest democratic country like India, people’s interest in voting is very less. National Voters’ Day is celebrated every year to make voters aware about the importance of voting. This year National Voters is being celebrated on 25th January just before the elections. The purpose of celebrating Voters’ Day is to identify eligible voters and encourage them to vote. This day is celebrated to remind the citizens of the democratic country of their duty.
Every year on the day of Voters’ Day, voters are also administered the oath to vote so that they as a citizen should be aware of the protection of democracy. Eligible voters are identified in all polling station areas across the country on Voters’ Day. The eligible voters include youth who have attained the age of 18 years. After entering the names of these voters in the voter list, they are handed over the election photo identity cards.
