Indian Flag: India is celebrating its 73rd Republic Day in 2022. From the Red Fort to government offices across the country and many other places, people salute Bharat Mata and the tricolor by hoisting the national flag on this occasion. A symbol of India’s identity in the world is our tricolor.

Indian national flag is made up of three colors. That’s why it is also called tricolor. There is a round circle in the middle of this tricolor. From every color of the tricolor to the number of sticks present in the circle and the wheel, everything is like a symbol for the country.

When and who designed the tricolor?

The tricolor was built by Pingali Venkaiah in 1921. Pingali Venkaiah studied the national flags of about 30 countries from 1916 to 1921, after which he designed the tricolor. There is a slight difference between the tricolor of that time and the tricolor of today. At that time the tricolor used to have red, green, and white colors. At the same time, the symbol of the spinning wheel was given a place in it. But after the passage of a resolution in 1931, the red color was replaced by saffron color.

When did the Tirnaga become the national flag?

It took about 45 years for the tricolor to be recognized as the Indian flag. Ashok Chakra was included in the flag instead of the spinning wheel. The present form of the national flag was adopted during the meeting of the Constituent Assembly of India held on 22 July 1947. Since then it is hoisted on the occasion of Independence Day and Republic Day.
