Constituent Assembly of India:
The first meeting of the Constituent Assembly was held on 9 December 1946 at 11 am. The Constituent Assembly consisted of a total of 210 members, of which 15 were women. Two days later, that is, on December 11, 1946, in the Constituent Assembly meeting, Dr. Rajendra Prasad was elected as the permanent president. On 13 December 1946, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru presented the objective of the constitution in the resolution assembly, which was passed on 22 January 1947.

Why is Republic Day celebrated?

Where is the original copy of the constitution kept?
The original copy of the Indian Constitution, hand-written on handmade paper, is kept in the Nitrogen Gas Chamber in the Library of Parliament House. So that the original copy of the constitution can be preserved.
