Virat’s clarification on captaincy: Amidst the ongoing news and speculations for the past few days, Virat Kohli has made it clear during the press conference on Wednesday that he will be available for the ODI series on South Africa tour. And he wanted to captain the ODIs but the selectors said that they do not want to have different captains for the white ball.
On being withdrawn from the ODI series, Kohli said that he wanted to continue with the Test and ODI captaincy, but during the selection of the Test team, the chief selector told him that the ODI captaincy was being taken back. Kohli said that he has no problem with the ODI captaincy being taken back.
On the rift with Rohit Sharma, Virat said that there is no problem between Rohit and me. I have been clarifying this for the last two and a half years. Now I am tired of saying this over and over again. As far as his absence during the Test series is concerned, we will miss his abilities a lot.
Rohit Sharma gave his first interview to BCCI TV after becoming the captain. In this interview, he also praised Virat Kohli fiercely.
