Good Governance Week: Recently, the Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh had inaugurated the Good Governance Week campaign from 20 December to 25 December. Which aims to showcase and imitate best governance practices at the grassroots level.

The theme of Good Governance Week 2021 is “Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur”. Good Governance Week is being celebrated on 20-25 December as part of the Amrit Mahotsav festival of Azadi.

During this week-long campaign, more than 700 district collectors will visit Tehsil and Panchayat Samiti headquarters for timely grievance redressal and improvement in service delivery. It is being celebrated by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in association with various other Ministries and Departments.

The following events will be organized during this campaign:

  • December 21: There will be a discussion on “Good Governance Initiatives by the Ministry of External Affairs”.
  • December 22: “National Workshop on Next Phase of Reforms to Reduce Compliance Burden and Integrated and Effective Governance Practices by DPIIT” to be deliberated.
  • 23 December: A workshop will be organized by the Department of Personnel and Training on the topic “Mission Karmayogi – the way forward”.
  • 24 December: Creation of Workshop by Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances on “Initiatives to Increase Efficiency in Decision Making in Central Secretariat”.
  • 25 December: “Good Governance Day” will be celebrated.
