India and Saudi Arabia will conduct its first naval exercise Al-Mohad Al-Hindi 2021. To participate in this exercise, India’s guided missile destroyer INS Kochi has reached Saudi Arabia.

He said the warship went to Saudi Arabia on Saturday after conducting naval exercises with the UAE Navy off the coast of Abu Dhabi. The port phase of the exercise “Al-Mohad Al-Hindi 2021” began on Monday, while the sea-based exercise is taking place from Wednesday.

The exercise comes amid rising tensions in the Gulf region following the death of a British national and a Romanian national in a drone attack on a merchant tanker in Oman. The joint naval exercise will reflect the growing defense and military cooperation between India and Saudi Arabia.

In December 2020, Army Chief General MM Naravane had visited two important Gulf countries UAE and Saudi Arabia for the first time from the Indian Army.
