According to the Navy, Vikrant is a unique example of ‘Self-reliant India’ and ‘Make in India’ as Vikrant is the country’s largest indigenous warship to date.

Recently, India’s first indigenous Aircraft Carrier Vikrant (IAC) has conducted its first sea trials on 04 August 2021. It is the largest and most complex warship built in the country.

India currently has only one aircraft carrier ‘INS Vikramaditya‘. The Indian Navy is emphasizing on increasing its capability in view of China’s increasing efforts to increase military presence in the Indian Ocean region.

The Vikrant aircraft carrier weighs 40,000 tonnes and has undergone sea trials for the first time. A ship of this name played an important role in the 1971 war 50 years ago.

This aircraft carrier is to be inducted into the Indian Navy next year. It has been built by Cochin Shipyard Limited at a cost of about Rs 23,000 crore.

INS Vikrant is about 262 meters long and 62 meters wide. It has 14 decks i.e. floors and 2300 compartments. 1700 sailors can be deployed on this. The top speed of Vikrant is 28 knots and it can cover a distance of 7500 nautical miles in one go.

हाल ही मे, भारत के पहले स्वदेशी एयरक्राफ्ट कैरियर विक्रांत (IAC) ने 04 अगस्त 2021 को अपना पहला समुद्र परीक्षण किया है| यह देश में निर्मित सबसे बड़ा और जटिल युद्धपोत है|

भारत के पास अभी सिर्फ एक विमानवाहक जहाज ‘आईएनएस विक्रमादित्य’ है| भारतीय नौसेना, हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र में सैन्य मौजूदगी बढ़ाने की चीन की बढ़ती कोशिशों के मद्देनजर अपनी क्षमता बढ़ाने पर जोर दे रही है|

 

विक्रांत विमानवाहक पोत का वजन 40,000 टन है और इसने पहली बार समुद्र में परीक्षण किया है| इस नाम के एक जहाज ने 50 साल पहले 1971 के युद्ध में अहम भूमिका निभाई थी|

इस विमानवाहक जहाज को अगले साल भारतीय नौसेना में शामिल किया जाना है| इसे लगभग 23,000 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से कोचीन शिपयार्ड लिमिटेड ने निर्मित किया है|

आईएनएस विक्रांत करीब 262 मीटर लंबा और 62 मीटर चौड़ा है| इसमें 14 डेक यानी फ्लोर हैं और 2300 कंपार्टमेंट हैं| इस पर 1700 नौसैनिक तैनात किए जा सकते हैं| विक्रांत की टॉप स्पीड 28 नॉट्स है और ये एक बार में 7500 नॉटिकल मील की दूरी तय कर सकता है|
