Recently, the well-known Assamese litterateur and journalist, Homen Borgohain have passed away. He was associated with several newspapers and until recently died served as the editor-in-chief of the Assamese daily Neomiya Dialogue (Niyomiya Barta).
He was also the president of the Assam Sahitya Sabha. He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1978 for the Assamese language for his novel ‘Father Putra’. He has written many novels, short stories, and poems.
