The purpose of Fugaku is to establish the vision of the Government of Japan to create “Ultra-smart Society 5.0”.
The Japanese Scientific Research Institute named RIKEN and Fujitsu started developing “Fugaku” six years ago. Currently, it is the most powerful supercomputer in the world.
Fugaku is named after an alternate name of Mount Fuji. This supercomputer is completely ready and developed in Japan and is now available for research use. This supercomputer has been developed with the aim of making the device the core of Japan’s computing infrastructure.
It is a major national technology developed with the goal of achieving research results that will ultimately contribute to building a longer-lived and healthier society, better energy use and disaster mitigation.
In April 2020, supercomputers were tested for special projects to deal with the COVID-19 epidemic. Japan’s Research Organization for Information Science and Technology (RIST) has selected some 74 projects that will use this supercomputer in the financial year 2021.

(यह एक प्रमुख राष्ट्रीय तकनीक है जिसे अनुसंधान परिणामों को प्राप्त करने के लक्ष्य के साथ विकसित किया गया है जो अंततः एक लंबे समय तक रहने वाले और स्वस्थ समाज, बेहतर ऊर्जा उपयोग और आपदा न्यूनीकरण का निर्माण करने में सहयोग देगा |)
