Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has recently released the list of 40 companies, banks etc. that have failed to follow its latest SMS rules. Customers of these banks may face difficulties in obtaining OTP from 1 April.
These include SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, besides LIC, Bandhan Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Axis Bank, IDBI Bank, Angel Broking, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Federal Bank, Flipkart, Delhi, IDFC First Bank Are major institutions like Union Bank.
TRAI said that no further exemption can be given for non-compliance of mandatory parameters like Content Template ID, PEID etc. by these organizations. So if these companies do not take any emergency steps, then their customers will stop getting OTP on the registered mobile number or email.
TRAI has been trying to implement the system of stopping unsolicited calls, SMS since the year 2018. Send SMS in the format prescribed by TRAI. The main reason behind this is to protect people from cybercrime such as phishing by fake SMS.

(इनमें SBI, HDFC बैंक, ICICI बैंक के अलावा एलआईसी, बंधन बैंक, बैंक ऑफ बड़ौदा, बैंक ऑफ इंडिया, एक्सिस बैंक, आईडीबीआई बैंक, एंजेल ब्रोकिंग, केनरा बैंक, सेंट्रल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया, फेडरल बैंक, फ्लिपकार्ट, डेल्हीवेरी, आईडीएफसी फर्स्ट बैंक, यूनियन बैंक जैसी प्रमुख संस्थाएं हैं|)
(ट्राई ने कहा कि इन संस्थाओ द्वारा अनिवार्य पैरामीटर जैसे कंटेन्ट टेम्पलेट आईडी, पीईआईडी आदि का पालन नहीं करने पर और छूट नहीं दी जा सकती है | इसलिए अगर इन कंपनियों ने कोई आपात कदम नहीं उठाए तो उनके ग्राहकों को रिजस्टर्ड मोबाइल नंबर या ई-मेल पर ओटीपी मिलना बंद हो जायेगा|)
(ट्राई साल 2018 से ही अनचाहे कॉल, एसएमएस को रोकने की व्यवस्था लागू करने की कोशिश कर रहा है | ट्राई द्वारा तय फार्मेट में ही एसएमएस भेजें जाये | इसके पीछे मुख्य आम लोगों को फर्जी एसएमएस से होने वाले फिशिंग जैसे साइबर क्राइम से बचाना है|)
(नए DLT सिस्टम में रजिस्टर्ड टेम्पलेट वाले हर SMS के कंटेंट को वेरिफाई करने के बाद ही डिलीवर किया जाएगा | इस प्रोसेस को स्क्रबिंग कहते है | इसे 8 मार्च से लागू किया गया था किन्तु बहुत से लोगों को ओटीपी आने में दिक्कतें आ रही थीं| इसलिए ट्राई ने इन दिक्कतों को देखते हुए एसएमएस डिलिवरी पर अंकुश हटा दिया था, लेकिन 1 अप्रैल से फिर से यह समस्या खड़ी हो सकती है|)
