Delhi cabinet approves new excise policy: Drinking age reduced from 25 years to 21 years

Recently, the Delhi cabinet approved the new excise policy in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Made several important changes in the new policy. In which the age of drinking alcohol has been reduced from 25 years to 21 years.

 Like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, now the age of buying liquor in Delhi will be 21 years, while in Goa and Andhra Pradesh, the age limit is 18 years.

India’s first international testing lab will be established in Delhi to curb poisonous liquor. Liquor stores will be divided equally.

The BJP has termed it as a dark day of history by the Delhi government to approve the new excise policy. At the same time, State Congress President Anil Chaudhary has described the new excise policy as dangerous for the youth.
