Funds are being provided from the World Bank, Water Life Mission of the Government of India, NABARD and the state budget for every house water, every house cleaning scheme.
Recently, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has virtually launched the ‘Har Ghar Pani, Har Ghar Safai’ mission to provide 100 per cent potable piped water supply from the pipeline to all rural households in the state by March 2022. With this, Punjab has become the first state in the country to implement this mission.
With this scheme more than 1.6 lakh people from 155 villages of arsenic affected population in Amritsar district will get the benefit. The scheme is being funded by World Bank, Jal Jeevan Mission, Government of India, NABARD and State Budget.
Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh inaugurated the Mega Nahari Water Supply Scheme for this mission on 01 February 2021. Under this, along with covering 85 villages in Moga district, 144 new water supply schemes for 172 villages include arsenic (harmful chemical elements) and 121 iron-removal plants. In which 35 plants are inaugurated and 86 plants are dedicated to the people.
Describing clean drinking water as the priority of his government, the Chief Minister said that on an average Rs 920 crore is being spent annually by the current Congress government to start various water supply and sanitation schemes while only 219 crores were spent in the Akali-BJP government used to go.
After the state government came to power in March 2017, 1450 crores have already been spent for rural sanitation and drinking water. 23.71 rural households (67.65 per cent of the population) are being supplied potable water through pipes.
To provide immediate relief to 54 villages in the border area where there is a significant amount of arsenic in groundwater, the Captain has started a project costing Rs 4.85 crore which will be completed by April 2021.
On the same occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the multi-village Nahari Water Supply Project for 85 villages in the uranium-affected blocks of Bagha Purana and Nihal Singh Wala in Moga district, which has been built at a cost of Rs 218.56 crore.
The ‘Har Ghar Pani, Har Ghar Safai’ mission will provide 24-hour clean water to 68839 homes with a population of 3.64 lakh. Apart from this, the Chief Minister has formally launched 10 mega canal water supply schemes costing Rs 1020 crore. This includes 1018 villages in the affected areas of Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Gurdaspur, Amritsar and Tarn Taran.

(मुख्यमंत्री कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह ने 01 फरवरी 2021 को इस मिशन के लिए मेगा नहरी जल सप्लाई स्कीम का उद्घाटन किया। इसके तहत मोगा जिले के 85 गांवों को कवर करने के साथ-साथ, 172 गांवों के लिए 144 नई जल सप्लाई योजनाओं में आर्सेनिक (हानिकारक रासायनिक तत्व) और आयरन हटाने वाले 121 प्लांट शामिल है। जिसमे 35 प्लांटों का उद्घाटन और 86 प्लांट लोगों को समर्पित किए है|)
(मुख्यमंत्री ने साफ पेयजल को अपनी सरकार की प्राथमिकता बताते हुए कहा कि मौजूदा कांग्रेस सरकार की तरफ से विभिन्न जल सप्लाई और सैनिटेशन स्कीम शुरू करने के लिए सालाना औसतन 920 करोड़ रुपये खर्च किए जा रहे हैं जबकि अकाली -भाजपा सरकार में केवल 219 करोड़ खर्च किया जाता था।)

(‘हर घर पानी, हर घर सफाई’ मिशन 3.64 लाख की जनसंख्या वाले 68839 घरों को 24 घंटे साफ पानी मुहैया कराएगा। इसके अलावा मुख्यमंत्री ने 1020 करोड़ रुपये की लागत वाली 10 मेगा नहरी जल सप्लाई स्कीमों की औपचारिक तौर पर शुरुआत की है। इससे पटियाला, फतेहगढ़ साहिब, गुरदासपुर, अमृतसर और तरनतारन के प्रभावित इलाकों में 1018 गांव शामिल हैं।)
