Budget session: 16 Parties Including Congress will Boycott Presidential Address
Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said on Thursday that on behalf of 16 political parties, including the Congress, we are informing that it has been decided to boycott President Ram Nath Kovind’s address to Parliament on 29 January. Ghulam Nabi said that this decision has been taken in opposition to agricultural laws.
These 16 political parties include DMK, SP, CPI (M), CPI, RSP, PDP, Kerala Congress, AIUDF and Trinamool Congress etc. apart from Congress, NCP, Shiv Sena.
The budget session of Parliament will begin on January 29 with the President’s address. The opposition says that it will raise the issue of farmers in the budget session. In their joint statement, political parties have fiercely surrounded the Modi government at the Center regarding the farmers’ movement and new agricultural laws.
Political parties have said that the farmers of the country are continuously protesting against the central government. More than half of the population is dependent on agriculture and the centre is doing too much with the farmers.
Farmers have been struggling for their rights and justice for 64 days in the winter of Delhi. At the same time, 155 farmers have died in this movement so far. The parties have alleged that the bill was brought without discussion with the states. If it is not withdrawn, it will violate the federal sentiments of the Constitution.
