Norway signs MoU with Clean Ganga Mission of India

The Norwegian Institute of Bio economy Research (NIBIO) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Clean Ganga National Mission (NMCG) think-tank “cGanga” for the development of sludge management framework in India.
Through this initiative, Norway will strengthen relations with India, particularly in the prevention of climate change and protection of the environment.
The MoU was signed during the 5th edition of the India Water Impact 2020 held from 10–15 December 2020. The event is co-organized by the National Mission for Clean Ganga and the Center for Ganga River Basin Management and Studies.
National Mission for Clean Ganga(NMCG) was registered as a society on 12th August 2011 under the Societies Registration Act 1860.It acted as implementation arm of National Ganga River Basin Authority(NGRBA) which was constituted under the provisions of the Environment (Protection) Act (EPA),1986.
