Major government schemes launched in the year 2020


Many important government schemes have been launched in the year 2020, which are very important for the preparation of various examinations. It is very important to remember from the point of view of current affairs.

1. Self-reliant India Employment Scheme: – Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched this scheme on 12 November 2020 to promote employment in India recovering from the Covid transition period. Its purpose is to encourage new employment.

2. PM Swanidhi Yojana: – The Government of India has announced the launch of PM Swanidhi scheme after the cabinet meeting on 01 June 2020. The benefit of PM Swanidhi Yojana will be available to those who live in livelihood by setting up street vendors and small shops.

3. ‘PM Vani’ Scheme: – On 09 December 2020, the Central Government has approved the proposal of the Department of Telecommunications to create a network to provide Wi-Fi services through public data offices (PDOs) across the country. This service will be known as ‘PM Vani’.

4. Operation Green Plan: – With the objective of protecting the horticulture farmers from economic loss due to Corona infection, the scope of Operation Green Scheme has been extended by the Central Government on 12 October 2020. The Operation Green Scheme has been conducted by the Union Government’s Ministry of Food Processing Industries with a provision of 500 crores under the Self-Reliant India Campaign.

5.Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme: – The Central Government on 11 November 2020, proposed a Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for ten major sectors including pharmaceutical drugs, auto components and automobiles, to increase India’s manufacturing capabilities and exports. Has been approved.

6.Pradhan Mantri-Kusum Yojana: – The Ministry of Power has issued orders for expansion of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Energy Security and Uttam Mahabhiyan (Prime Minister-Kusum) under which the new target of the scheme is to achieve solar capacity of 30.8 GHz (GW) by the year 2022. Has been carried forward This target will be achieved with revised central financial assistance of Rs 34,035 crore.

7. Ownership Plan: – Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ownership plan on 11 October 2020 on the birth anniversary of Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan and Nanaji Deshmukh. On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that today you have a right, a legal document that your house is yours, you will own it.

The ownership plan is a scheme of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, which was launched by the Prime Minister on National Panchayati Day on 24 April 2020. The objective of this scheme is to provide property cards related to rights related records to the owners of households in rural areas, about 6.62 lakh villages will come under its purview.

8. Indira Rasoi Yojana: – The Rajasthan government launched the Indira Rasoi Yojana on 20 August 2020 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi. On this occasion, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that he started the scheme through video conferencing under the “no starving person”.

9.National Digital Health Mission: – On the occasion of 74th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation for the seventh consecutive time from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort and one of which launched the ‘National Digital Health Mission’. He said that the health sector has taught India’s greatest learning in the period of corona virus.

10. Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana: – On 30 June 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the nation announced to extend the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana till November. 80 crore people will get 5 kg of wheat or rice free under this scheme. The scheme was launched by the Central Government on 26 March 2020 under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.
