India has been elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and for August 2021, India will serve as the President of the United Nations body. According to the rules, the President of the United Nations Security Council is elected according to the English alphabetical order of the names of the member states. Each member becomes the President in a month by rotation.

JSW Cement has appointed Sourav Ganguly and Sunil Chhetri as its brand ambassadors. 75th United Nations General Assembly: Turkish diplomat Volkan Bozkir has been elected President of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly will begin in September 2020.



The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has decided to recommend former Indian caption IM Vijayan for the Padma Shri award, which is the fourth highest civilian award in the country.
The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) has announced the fourth edition of the Asian Youth Para Games to be held in Bahrain in December 2021. About 800 athletes under the age of 20 will compete in nine sports in these sports: athletics, badminton, boscia, goalball para taekwondo, powerlifting, swimming, table tennis and wheelchair basketball. The event will be organized in collaboration with the National Paralympic Committee of Bahrain.



Chef Angad Singh Rana has won the QualityNZ Culinary Cup 2020. The award has been announced by renowned cricketer and Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming. Chef Angad Singh Rana will be offering QualityNZ Lamb worth Rs 50,000 and seafood worth over Rs 46,000 and a Weber BBQ with the QualityNZ Culinary Cup 2020. The award is New Zealand’s first ‘virtual’ chef competition held in India – the ‘Quality NZ Culinary Cup’.



Hyderabad City Police in association with Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) has launched a program called “She Triumphs through Respect, Equality, and Empowerment” (STREE) to assist and empower women victims of domestic violence and abuse.



Bollywood and TV actor Sushant Singh Rajput has committed suicide by hanging himself in his flat on 14 June. It is being told that he was a victim of depression for the last few days.



Famous Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi has been made the brand ambassador of Bihar Khadi by the Bihar government. He is a native of Bihar. He will promote Bihar’s Khadi in Patna and the country’s largest Khadi mall.



“Composite Regional Center for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)” has been started in Ranchi (Jharkhand). The center is inaugurated by Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawarchand Gehlot and Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda. This will be the 21st Composite Regional Center (CRC) to meet the needs of people with disabilities in Jharkhand.
