Flood warning system IFLOWS launched in Mumbai

“IFLOWS”, a state-of-the-art flood warning system has been introduced in Mumbai. This flood warning system was launched by Union Minister of Earth Sciences Harsh Vardhan along with Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. iFLOWS consists of seven modules: Data Assimilation, Flood, Indulation, Vulnerability, Risk, Dissemination Module and Decision Support System.

The recently launched system “iFLOWS” in Mumbai will enable Mumbai to predict floods occurring three days ago. As a result, the administration will be able to save the property along with the flood. Now, the city will become more flexible with the launch of the system as it is able to provide early signs of imminent danger during high rainfall and cyclone events.
