ARCI prepares magnetocaloric material for early cancer treatment
Scientists at the International Advanced Research Center for Powder Materials and New Materials (ARCI), an international advanced research center for metal refining and new materials, have designed a rare metal-based magnetocaloric material that can be used effectively for cancer treatment. Magnetochloric materials An object in which applying or removing a magnetic field can cause the object to become hot or cold and as such, it will be able to give controlled heating. The rare earth alloy has been selected for study by the ARCI team because some rare metals are compatible with the human body.
The magnetocaloric material heats or cools, respectively, upon applying or removing the magnetic field. The advantage of its use is that as the magnetic field is removed, the effect of cooling starts showing it, whereas in case of magnetic micro particles, the temperature remains too high when the magnetic field is removed. Thus, this treatment will reduce the side effects of cancer and will also reduce the harm to human body. Apart from this, it will also reduce the treatment time of cancerous tumors.
