(1) 05 May
 World Environment Day (World Environment Day) is celebrated globally on 5 June every year. This day is celebrated to make people aware of the importance of environmental corrosion and nature. The day provides an opportunity to broaden the “basis for an enlightened thought and responsible conduct” by individuals, enterprises and communities in preserving and maintaining the environment.

(2)Kritika Pandey
Writer Kritika Pandey won the Commonwealth Short Story Prize 2020 for the Asia Region, and was given the award for her story “The Great Indian Tee and Snakes”. This is the story of a Hindu girl falling in love with a Muslim boy, which tells how these two youngsters are trying to spread the idea of ​​love in times of hatred and favoritism.

(3) Rajiv Topno
Senior diplomat Rajiv Topno has been appointed as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of the World Bank in Washington DC. He was currently serving as personal secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 2014. He is a 1996 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre. He has been appointed as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director (ED) of the World Bank for a period of three years.

(4) Jammu and Kashmir 
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu has launched the salary tracker mobile app MeraVetan (version-1) for government employees. The purpose of this new application launched is to provide salary related information to employees.

(5) Singer
Anwar Sagar, veteran lyricist and member of the Indian Performing Right Society Limited (IPRS) passed away. He was most famous for the hit track Vaada Raha Sanam of the 1992 Akshay Kumar-starrer Khiladi film.

(6) GoI
The Government of India has launched a “Nagar Van (Urban Forest)” program with the aim of increasing forest cover in urban areas. The “Nagar Forest (Urban Forest)” program has been launched with 200 corporations and cities across the country. During the launch of the program, Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar urged the people to actively participate in their areas and increase the cover of trees.

(7) Brijendra Navneet
India has appointed Brijendra Navneet as the new Ambassador of India to the World Trade Organization (World Trade Organization). He is a 1999 bars IAS officer of TN cadre. He will be posted to the WTO in Geneva in the Permanent Mission of India (Permanent Mission of India). Navneet recently completed his term as Joint Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office. He will replace JSeek in the PMI, whose two-year term ends on May 31.

(8) Narendra Modi
The recently held Virtual Global Vaccine Summit 2020 was hosted by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson. India was represented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at this summit. The Virtual Global Vaccine Summit 2020 was attended by more than 50 countries including business leaders, civil society, ministers of government, UN agencies, heads of state and leaders of the country.

(9) Biodiversity
The theme of World Environment Day 2020 is ‘Biodiversity’.The World Environment Day 2020 theme is extremely important, especially with the recent events of major bushfires in Australia, Brazil and the United States.

(10) USD 15 Million
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged USD 15 million to the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI). He made the announcement during the Global Vaccine Summit hosted by the United Kingdom (UK) on June 4, 2020.

(11) HRD Ministry
The Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has launched an information booklet titled ‘Safe online learning in the times of COVID-19’, which aims to raise awareness among students and teachers regarding cyberbullying.

(12) RK Singh
Minister of Power (Independent Charge) R K Singh on June 5, 2020 initiated the ‘#iCommit’ campaign to commemorate World Environment Day. The initiative calls upon all stakeholders and individuals to continue working towards energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainability to create a robust and resilient energy system in the future.
