Facility for immediate application of PAN launched: Finance Minister
The ‘Instant Allocation of Permanent Account Number’ was formally launched by Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The facility has been launched on an almost real-time basis. PAN applicants will be able to take advantage of this facility, who have a valid ‘Aadhaar number’ as well as those whose mobile number is registered with ‘Aadhaar’.
After the launch of this new facility, the allocation process has now become paperless and applicants will be issued electronic PAN (e-PAN) free of cost. By introducing this facility it will be even easier for taxpayers to comply with the rules.
How to Fill Up Application for instant PAN:-
- Instant PAN applicants will be able to use the e-filing website of the Income Tax Department using their valid Aadhaar number.
- For this, the applicant will have to put the OTP received on the Aadhaar registered mobile number on the website.
- After successful completion of this process, the applicant will receive a 15-digit acknowledgment number.
- The applicant will be able to know the status of the application at any time by providing his valid Aadhaar number.
- After successful allocation, applicants will be able to download the e-PAN.
- On being registered with Aadhaar, e-PAN will also be sent to the applicant on his email ID.
